Former Cross River governor Liyel Imoke says the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its coalition partners are fully committed to unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.

Imoke made the declaration on Thursday at the inaugural meeting of the ADC held in Calabar.

He said the coalition is gaining traction across the country as a result of growing frustration over economic hardship and failed promises under the APC-led administration.

“We are not joking about the takeover in 2027. No amount of propaganda can stop the coalition,” Imoke said.

He dismissed speculations about friction between prominent opposition leaders like former vice-president Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, saying the alliance is united and focused.

According to him, the quality of political actors driving the coalition signals a serious intent to challenge and defeat the ruling party in the next election.
