Notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, has declared his readiness to lay down arms and embrace peace if given the opportunity.
Turji, who has been one of the most feared figures in banditry operations across the North West Nigeria, Turji insisted he was serious about his intentions, stressing that he was prepared to commit to peace if the government provides him the chance.
His declaration comes amid renewed calls for dialogue and non-military approaches to ending the insecurity plaguing the region.
Authorities are yet to formally respond to Turji’s latest peace overture as at the time of this report.
