The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has arrested five suspected railway track vandals and intercepted a truck loaded with vandalised railway materials along the Bauchi–Jos Road.

Speaking on the development, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Oloyede Nelson, said the arrest followed credible intelligence reports received by the corps.
Acting on the information, NSCDC operatives intercepted a long vehicle truck at Miri village, where the stolen railway items were cleverly disguised as bags of chicken feed and slippers.
According to the commandant, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects attempted to conceal the vandalised railway tracks to evade security checks while transporting them out of the state.
“Following actionable intelligence, our personnel intercepted the truck conveying vandalised railway tracks concealed among chicken feed bags and slippers,” Nelson said.
He confirmed that five suspects are currently in NSCDC custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the alleged mastermind behind the operation and the truck driver, who are said to be on the run.
Items recovered during the operation include 80 pieces of vandalised railway tracks, five pairs of slippers, bags of chicken feed, one long vehicle truck, and a Lexus RX 330 with registration number BWR 60 DN.
The NSCDC commandant reiterated the corps’ commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, warning that acts of vandalism would be met with decisive enforcement of the law.+See More Details. .
