NSCDC Officer Died, Police And Others 9 Personnel Injured In Abuja Road Fatal Accidents

A fatal road accident involving security agents attached to Sector 4, Operation Crush, Bende Axis, has claimed the life of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) while nine others, including three policemen, sustained injuries, the Abia State Police Command has confirmed.

Sources disclosed that the accident occurred on March 30, 2025, at about 1810hrs along Bende Road when their patrol vehicle somersaulted while returning to base.

The victims were rushed to Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, where one NSCDC officer was confirmed dead, while others are responding to treatment.

Among the injured are CPL Achibere Paul, CPL Nkama Emmanuel, and PC Okibe, who are currently receiving medical attention.

The arms belonging to the security personnel are in the custody of Operation Crush Commander, Lt. Ogar. Efforts are ongoing to recover the accidented vehicle.

In a separate incident, two Special Protection Unit (SPU) personnel traveling in a Sienna vehicle from Aba to Abakaliki were involved in a fatal accident along the Ntigha section of the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway.

The victims, identified as Akoh E. Benjamin and Uzoojike Victor, were confirmed dead at FMC Umuahia, while a civilian occupant remains in a coma.

The corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the FMC mortuary, pending further investigations.
