Presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, has criticised former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over his recent remarks and speculations about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing them as “unfounded” and “absurd.”
Onanuga, in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, said El-Rufai’s claims — including that President Tinubu intends to become a “life president” after 2027 — were nothing more than political fabrications.
He noted that President Tinubu remains a committed democrat who has no plan to stay in office beyond May 28, 2031, if re-elected in 2027.
The presidential aide added that El-Rufai’s fears were fueled by the massive reception President Tinubu received in Kaduna last Friday, which, he said, contradicted claims that the North had abandoned him.
Onanuga urged Governor Uba Sani to engage with his predecessor, suggesting that El-Rufai “may need professional counselling” to steer him away from what he described as hallucinations and failed political plots. If You’re Reading From Phoenix Click On Read Original To Read Full Article
