Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice, integrity, accountability and faith-based leadership as the state marked its 50th anniversary.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said Ondo State was founded on vision, courage and strong moral values, noting that the progress recorded over the past five decades has been driven by collective effort, resilience and divine guidance, despite various challenges.
He emphasised the importance of faith in governance, describing leadership as a sacred trust that must uphold equity, social cohesion and the welfare of all citizens, irrespective of background or belief.

According to the governor, his administration remains focused on key priorities such as inclusive economic growth, youth empowerment, human capital development, and the strengthening of institutions anchored on transparency, accountability and ethical values.
“As we celebrate 50 years of Ondo State, we recommit ourselves to leadership rooted in justice, fairness and the fear of God,” Aiyedatiwa said.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh Abdulhaheem Yayi-Akorode, praised both past and present leaders for their contributions to the development of Ondo State, noting that the current level of progress reflects years of sacrifice and dedication.
The cleric commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s infrastructural development efforts and social initiatives, while also calling for greater inclusiveness, improved sanitation support, and increased Muslim representation in government.+See More Details
