The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as the Amotekun Corps, has announced the commencement of its 5th Batch Recruitment Exercise (BR05) as part of efforts to strengthen security operations across the state.
The recruitment drive follows the approval of the state government and is aimed at enhancing the corps’ capacity to protect lives and property amid persistent security challenges.
In a statement signed by Muyideen Fabunmi on behalf of the Corps Commander, the agency outlined its objectives, which include gathering intelligence, collaborating with sister agencies across the South-West, combating criminal activities such as kidnapping, terrorism, cattle rustling, cultism, and ensuring safe movement along highways, forests and waterways.
Eligibility Criteria
According to the statement, applicants must:
- Be indigene of Ondo State or residents of at least 10 years of Yoruba extraction, with proof of:
- Local Government of Origin
- Payment of development levy for at least three years
- National Identity Card or valid Voter’s Card
Possess relevant paramilitary or security experience, including:
- Local hunting
- Technical trades such as mechanical engineering, building, electrical works, plumbing, welding, tailoring, ICT skills (web or graphics design)
- Being “spiritually endowed”
- Be 20 years and above, with recent proof of physical and mental fitness issued by a government hospital.
- Provide evidence of good character endorsed by a Notary Public, Chairman of Local Government Traditional Council, or a Justice of the Peace (JP).
- Have resided in Ondo State for at least 10 years, and not less than three years at their current address, with attestation from members of their community development association.
