Ondo Civil Service Commission Begins Recruitment of Forest, Produce Officers

The Ondo State Civil Service Commission has commenced recruitment for the positions of Forest and Produce Officers in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

In a public announcement released yesterday, the Commission said the exercise is aimed at strengthening the state’s forestry and produce sub-sector. The roles are listed under Grade Level 08 and are open to qualified graduates.

According to the Commission, interested applicants are required to collect application forms from the Appointment Registry at the Civil Service Commission headquarters in Akure.

The Commission said the deadline for submission of completed forms is Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Eligibility:

Applicants for the position of Forest Officer must hold a degree in any of the following disciplines: Forestry, Forest Resource Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Zoology, Botany/Biology, Forest Engineering, Forest Utilization, Timber Technology, or Wood Science.

Those applying for the position of Produce Officer must possess a degree in Agricultural or Biological Sciences from a recognized university.

In addition to academic qualifications, all applicants must:

  • Have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or present valid exemption letters
  • Be physically and mentally fit
  • Be not more than 45 years old
  • Submit a birth certificate or sworn age declaration
  • Present a certificate of state of origin signed by a recognized authority

The Commission warned that only applicants who meet the listed criteria will be considered.

The recruitment was confirmed in a statement signed by the Commission’s Administrative Secretary, Omotayo Akeju, dated June 30, 2025.
