Ondo State has achieved another major milestone in its security reform drive as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Friday commissioned the newly completed Amotekun Command & Control Centre and a modern Training Auditorium in Akure.
Speaking at the event, the governor said the facilities represent a renewed commitment to strengthening security under his administration’s OUR EASE agenda.
According to him, protecting lives and property remains one of his top priorities. He also praised the Amotekun Corps—particularly the Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye—for their “loyalty, sacrifice and innovation” in safeguarding the state.

Key Highlights of the Commissioning:
1. Launch of a modern Command & Control Centre to enhance intelligence gathering and rapid response
2. Unveiling of a Training Auditorium for theoretical and tactical security training
3. Approval of 500 new Amotekun recruits to reinforce ongoing operations
4. Strengthened synergy among security agencies across Ondo State
5. Special tributes to late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, described as the “visioner of Amotekun”

Security chiefs, including the Commissioner of Police, NSCDC Commandant and DSS Director, commended the governor for his consistent support, noting that it has contributed significantly to making Ondo one of the most peaceful states in the country.
