The governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has said that there is no room for vacancy in the state for the coalition, its leaders and members.

He also chided members and leaders of the coalition party, the African Democratic Congress over the plan to oust the president and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.

Speaking while receiving Dayo Awude, a former deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), to the APC, Aiyedatiwa said the coalition leaders are dreamers.

He also said that those championing the coalition and its party have no better plans for Nigeria and its people.

He, however, stated that the APC remains the only credible party in the state.

Aiyedatiwa further called on more individuals and politicians to join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“In Ondo State, there is no room for coalition. It is one APC. People join political parties for different reasons, but the interest of the party must always supersede every other interest, and for us in the APC, that interest is to retain power,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor also called on new defectors who joined the APC to begin grassroots mobilisation in their respective wards.

“We acknowledge that you have decided to join us. Your coming will be rewarded. As you can see, the dividends of good governance are showing themselves under the leadership of President Tinubu and I as your governor in the state.

“Our declaration for Asiwaju is that Ondo State is for Tinubu in 2027. The whole of Ondo State is for Tinubu in 2027, and to realise this, you have decided to join us. We know winning Ondo State is not an issue but to have overwhelming votes, and you are the evidence of those votes,” he said.
