Following the claim of Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State is one of the non-performing governors in the country, an aide to Aiyedatiwa, Yomi Oyekan, has described the claim as untrue.

Oyekan disclosed that the people of Ondo State are living witnesses to the strides of Aiyedatiwa in the state.

Fayose had in a post on his social media page described Aiyedatiwa and his Ekiti State counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji as non-performing governors describing them as Taiye and Kehinde, a Yoruba metaphor for identical twins.

The post which has since gone viral in the state read “2 non-performing governors in southwest (Taiye and Kehinde). I feel sorry for Ekiti and Ondo people.”

Oyekan, who was not pleased with the post stated that “I understand your flair for witty jabs, but Ondo people know the difference between comedy and governance. Calling Governor Aiyedatiwa “non-performing” might sound catchy online, but facts speak louder than captions.

“This is a Governor who has cleared ₦12bn gratuities to give pensioners long-awaited relief, doubled bursary support so students across Nigeria can breathe easier, and is pushing massive road rehabilitations across the state.

“These aren’t press statements, they are realities citizens are already benefiting from.
