Ondo State Police Command Flags Off National Police Day Celebrations with Community Sanitization and Free Medical Outreach

The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of Cp Adebowale Lawal psc(+), mnips has officially commenced activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration with a series of impactful community-based initiatives, including environmental sanitation and free medical outreach services across the state.

The flag-off event, held on Monday, March 30, 2026, is in line with the nationwide directive of the Inspector-General of Police IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM to commemorate the annual Police Day, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”

As part of the outreach, officers and men of the Command actively participated in the cleaning and sanitation of selected public spaces like Arakale Market, Nepa Junction amongst others, demonstrating the Command’s commitment not only to public safety but also to environmental well-being.

In addition, the Command organized a free medical outreach aimed at providing essential healthcare services to members of the public. The initiative saw residents benefiting from medical consultations, basic treatments, and health advice, further strengthening the bond between the Police and the communities they serve.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, emphasized that the celebration is designed to foster stronger collaboration between the Police and the public, while also showcasing the humanitarian side of policing.

He noted that the Police remain dedicated to building trust, promoting community engagement, and enhancing service delivery through people-centered initiatives.

Also in attendance was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 17, AIG Ajani Musbau, psc(+), who admonished participants and encouraged them to take full advantage of the outreach and its numerous benefits.

The Command urges members of the public to continue supporting the Police with credible information and to actively participate in programs that promote peace, safety, and mutual trust.

Activities lined up for the 2026 Police Day celebration will continue throughout the week, culminating in a grand event on April 7, 2026.
