Operation FANSAN YANMA Troops Neutralize Two Terrorists, Recover Arms In Zamfara Ambush

Troops of 1 Brigade, Operation FANSAN YANMA have neutralized two terrorists and recovered arms and equipment during an ambush operation along the Gada Maya–Makakari road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security sources said that at about 2:55 p.m. on March 25, troops conducted reconnaissance and laid an ambush along a known terrorist movement route. Contact was made with the terrorists, and a brief firefight ensued, resulting in the neutralization of two insurgents while others fled.

Troops subsequently exploited the area, recovering one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 55 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one Baofeng radio, two mobile phones, and one motorcycle.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by troops to deny terrorists freedom of action and maintain security across affected communities in Zamfara State.
