Oyo, Anambra, FCT Stampedes: Nigerians desperately searching for food – Peter Obi

The 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Saturday said Nigerians are desperately in search of survival due to the harsh economic situation.

Obi said the harsh economic reality has pushed Nigerians to search for food at the cost of their lives.

He was reacting to the stampede in Oyo, Anambra States, and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Not less than 20 residents of the Okija community in Anambra State have reportedly lost their lives in a stampede.

The stampede occurred on Saturday during an event for the distribution of rice.

Leadnaija also reported that an unspecified number of persons died following a stampede at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama area of Abuja.
