"Painful Loss" Wike Says, Sympathize With Former Benue Governor Over Brother Death

The immediate past governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has lost his younger brother, Bernard Tyozenda Ortom.

Ortom’s brother’s passing was disclosed in a statement issued by Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Olayinka in the statement said the minister expressed his condolence to his friend, former colleague and ex-governor of Benue state on the passing of his brother.

According to the aide, Wike described the passing of Bernard as “painful” and extended prayers for the repose of his soul.

The minister also encouraged the governor and his family to remain strong while praying to God to comfort them.

“The news of the death of Mr Bernard Tyozenda Ortom came to me as a rude shock, and I understand the feeling of loss that my brother and friend, His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom, must be experiencing right now.

“However, as painful and shocking as this death may be, I urge you to find solace in God, who has made death inevitable.

“I commiserate with you over this sad incident. It is my prayer that God, in His infinite mercies, will grant you and the entire Ortom Adorogo family the strength to bear this irreparable and painful loss,” CONTINUE READING- Wike was quoted saying.
