The House of Representatives has approved the declaration of a state of emergency for Rivers State.
Despite opposition from Nigerians, the House of Reps also approved the six-month suspension imposed on Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, and all members of the House of Assembly in Rivers State.
Recall that on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, President Bola Tinubu, in a nationwide broadcast, announced the declaration of a state of emergency following the political crisis happening in the state.
President Tinubu also appointed Vice Admiral Ibas as the administrator of the state’s affairs for the next six months.
