The Senior Pastor of Liberation City, Chris Okafor, has criticised Tunde Bakare over what he described as his silence on current national challenges.
Speaking in a remark that has since circulated online, Okafor referenced the period when former President Goodluck Jonathan was in office, noting that Bakare was actively involved in leading protests at the time.
“When Jonathan was president, Pastor Tunde Bakare led millions of Nigerians in protest. I am surprised he is nowhere to be found,” he said.
Okafor further alleged that Bakare’s perceived silence may be linked to benefits from the current administration, though he did not provide evidence to support the claim.
“Because of what they are benefiting from the government, they are not able to speak. Shame unto Pastor Tunde Bakare,” he added.
There has been no immediate response from Bakare regarding the statement.
The comments have sparked reactions on social media, with Nigerians expressing mixed views over the role of religious leaders in political discourse and national advocacy.
