Guardiola has claimed that one new option Man City have for the holding midfield spot is Nico O’Reilly after he impressed against Salford City.
City thrashed their local rivals 8-0 in the FA Cup with several youngsters being given their chances to shine.
O’Reilly was certainly one of the players who took his chance as he scored his first goal for the club, despite featuring at left-back.
After the match, Guardiola said: “I’m really pleased for Jahmai [Simpson-Pusey] and Nico [O’Reilly] – who played for the first time in his life at left-back.
