A group, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), Kaduna State chapter, has urged the federal government to immediately take proactive measures to end what it called “the wanton killings” of Nigerians in different parts of the country.

Dr John Ikpeme, CUFI North West Coordinator, who represented Rev. Samson Ozovehe, its Executive Secretary at its end of year dinner, noted that Nigerians are being killed irrespective of their religion, tribe and where they come from, stating that the rate of killings in Nigeria calls for serious attention.

Ikpeme said, “Nobody in their right senses can deny the fact that there has been mass killings of Christians, especially in the northern region for the past few years. It is still ongoing in states like Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Southern Kaduna.”

He added, “As a group, as we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we are also praying for the peace of Nigeria and Kaduna state where we reside at the moment.

“So our main objective is to pray for peace to reign supreme in the Middle East and Nigeria, our beloved country.”

He stressed the need for all Nigerians to come together to pray for the peace of the nation and forge together as a family to fight against anything that is not working for the overall interest of all Nigerians.

“We should all agree that whether Christians or Muslims, we have been dealt a serious blow by those killing us for reasons best known to them.

“They believed the only way to live is to continue perpetuating evil by killing people at will for no just reason for their actions.

“They want people to keep quiet and allow them to continue such barbaric acts without raising any eyebrows.

“If for any reason the American President, Donald Trump, wants to deal with the terrorists and their sponsors for their actions against humanity, it is a welcome idea to save Nigerians from the untold hardship we have all suffered from and are still suffering.”
