The police posed as potential buyers and apprehended them while trying to sell the car to them.
In their confession, the trio said they stole the Toyota car from a residence in Naval Quarters, Asokoro, Abuja.
The statement also noted that the car has been recovered and in custody of the police. It further stated that the owner of the vehicle has been contacted.
In another operation, the statement read that a suspected notorious bandit, Aliyu Umar was arrested on 16 December, 2024 with eight AK-47 magazines and 50 rounds of live ammunition.
“On December 16, 2024, at about 1800 hours, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led by their OC SP Sani Ibrahim, acting based on credible information, successfully intercepted and arrested a 22-year-old suspect, Aliyu Umar, in Zaria”.
