Police Begin Clampdown On Vehicle Owners Over Third-party Insurance Policy In Ekiti

The Police command in Ekiti state has revealed that it has commenced the enforcement and clampdown on vehicle over the third-party insurance policy for vehicle owners in the state....TAP HERE TO READ FULL DETAILS.>>

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Abutu Sunday in a statement said the enforcement was in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The PPRO explained that the commissioner of police, Joseph Eribo asked vehicle owners to get the mandatory document or risk having their cars impounded by operatives of the command.

According to him, the third-party insurance policy would significantly enhance road safety and provide protection for road users against liabilities in the event of an accident.

The statement reads, ” the Commissioner enjoins all vehicle owners to ensure they comply with this directive as the Third-Party Insurance will promote road safety, provides protection for road users against liabilities arising from accidents which involve insured vehicles amongst other benefits.

“Vehicles without the Third-Party Insurance will be impounded and owners penalized in accordance with the law.

“The Commissioner, while addressing the Officers charged with the enforcement responsibility across the State yesterday being 1st February, 2025, tasked them to be professional, respect the rights of citizens while firmly discharging their duty.”Tap Here for the Full Story
