Kebbi State Police Command has apprehended four individuals linked to the destruction of a school transformer at Government Girls Secondary School, Bunza, in Bunza Local Government Area.

The suspects, Sanusi Muhammad and Ibrahim Lawal from Sokoto State, along with Tasi’u Abubakar and Tasi’u Abdullahi from Zamfara State, were arrested after a rapid response by the Divisional Police Officer in Bunza, supported by local vigilante groups.If You’re Reading From Phoenix Click On Read Original To Read Full Article

Confirming the arrest on Saturday, Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said the suspects had broken into the school premises around 3 a.m. on September 10, restrained the school’s watchman, and dismantled the transformer using chainsaws and other tools.

He added, “A black Toyota Corolla with registration number KNT-359-SN, believed to have been used during the crime, was recovered at the scene along with the vandalised armoured cables and implements. While two suspects were caught immediately, further investigation by the State CID in Birnin Kebbi led to the capture of the remaining individuals.”

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to face prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, praised the prompt intervention of the Bunza DPO and local vigilantes, highlighting it as a model of effective police-community partnership.
