The Presidency has reacted to reports of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s interest in the 2027 presidential race, stating that while he is welcome to contest, the courts will ultimately decide his eligibility.
A presidential source noted:
“We welcome Jonathan to the 2027 race, but the court will decide if someone who was sworn in twice as president satisfies the constitutional requirements and is eligible to contest the presidency again.”
