President Bola Tinubu’s government is considering a salary review for political office holders, following calls for more realistic pay. This follows a proposal by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to address outdated salary structures for top officials.

RMAFC Chairman, Mohammed Shehu, revealed the review plans.President Tinubu earns N1.5m monthly, ministers earn less than N1m.

The current salary structure, unchanged since 2008, has sparked controversy.Some argue that the disparity between politicians and civil servants is unjust.
