Reno Omokri Alleges Threats, Links Peter Obi to IPOB in Pre-Interview Statement

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has made serious allegations against Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his supporters ahead of his interview on The Honest Bunch, scheduled for release today at 6 PM WAT.

In a statement posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page, Omokri claimed that he and his family were subjected to harassment and physical threats in England beginning in 2022, allegedly by individuals he described as “IPOB-looking thugs” linked to Obi’s supporters, often referred to as “Obidients.”

“I felt personally betrayed when Peter Obi and his Obidients put me and my family through an ordeal… Threatening to kill my then one-year-old daughter—an unforgivable act,” Omokri wrote.

He also claimed that online attacks were carried out through coordinated propaganda accounts, including what he called a “catfish X account” and other social media handles spreading false information.

Most controversially, Omokri equated Peter Obi’s political movement with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), calling Obi the “political face” of what he termed a two-pronged strategy, with IPOB as the militant arm.

“To the Nigerian public, I warn that there is literally no difference between Peter Obi and IPOB,” he asserted.

As of press time, neither Peter Obi nor his media team had responded to the allegations.

The Honest Bunch interview, where Omokri promises to present “documentary evidence,” is set to be released today.
