Reno Omokri Challenges Obidients: ₦20 Million Reward for Proof Refuting Peter Obi’s Mismanagement Allegations

Political commentator Reno Omokri has thrown down a public challenge to supporters of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, promising to pay ₦20 million to anyone who can provide factual documentary evidence disproving his allegations of mismanagement against the Labour Party figurehead.

In a detailed statement, Omokri criticized Obi’s recent comments at Johns Hopkins University, where the former presidential candidate accused President Bola Tinubu of exacerbating poverty in Nigeria.

According to Omokri, Peter Obi is in no position to criticize others, alleging that poverty rates soared during Obi’s tenure as Anambra Governor due to neglect of critical social infrastructure.

“Fact-check me: Poverty increased at one of the fastest levels ever in Nigerian history in Anambra under Peter Obi as Governor,” Omokri stated. “Peter Obi refused to invest in social infrastructure despite the state’s financial capability, instead prioritizing deposits into a bank where he was a major shareholder and former Chairman.”

He further claimed that while Obi kept millions of dollars of state funds earning private interest in his bank, over seventy communities in Anambra lacked schools.

Omokri also referenced the Pandora Papers investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, which previously cited Obi for allegedly moving illicit funds abroad.

My name is Reno Omokri, and I am prepared to pay any Obidient who can prove with factual documentary evidence that I lied about what Peter Obi did with Anambra State Government funds,” Omokri asserted.

The challenge has ignited strong reactions online, fueling ongoing political debates between supporters of Peter Obi and the Tinubu administration.. CONTINUE READING
