A Reverend Sister of Veritas University, Abuja, Sr. Kinse Anastasia, has raised alarm over the alleged maltreatment and sexual harassment of nuns by some Catholic priests.
In a post shared on social media, Anastasia lamented that many Sisters are reduced to “ornaments in habits” and treated as objects of pleasure rather than respected for their vocation.
She alleged that some priests openly tell them that “Sisters are meant to be priests’ wives” and act on the claim without remorse.
According to her, the disturbing trend has left many Reverend Sisters emotionally broken and struggling with their calling, as they are often subjected to pressures and abuses that contradict the vows they have taken.
