Amid swirling speculation about his future, Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim has made a firm declaration about his position at the club, stating emphatically that he has no intention of stepping down.
In a press briefing, Amorim said:
“I will not quit. I am confident in my job and I will not change anything. If the board or fans feel that I’m not the right guy, I will go the next day without any conversation about compensation… but I will NOT quit.”
Amorim’s remarks come in the wake of mixed results that have raised questions about his long-term role at the club.
Despite this, he remains steadfast in his belief and leadership approach, reaffirming his commitment to Sporting’s project.
The manager’s declaration also seems to reflect a deep respect for the club’s hierarchy and supporters, making it clear that any decision about his future would rest solely with them, not on personal motives or financial terms.
As links to Premier League clubs—including Manchester United—intensify, Amorim’s stance underlines his integrity and professional resolve.
