A 34-year-old woman was shot and killed at her home on Masenna Road in Waterloo, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday afternoon.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the scene at around 16h03. Officers found the woman lying at the rear of the property with gunshot wounds to the face and left shoulder. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her two children, aged 17 and 13, reportedly heard a loud noise moments before discovering their mother in a pool of blood behind the house.
The motive for the killing is currently unknown.
