Security measures have been significantly strengthened, with a multi-agency command centre coordinating the South African Police Service, traffic police, and emergency services to provide real-time oversight. Delegates will receive dedicated security escorts, and key entry points across Johannesburg are on high alert.

Urban beautification is also a major priority, with Johannesburg and key areas such as the Cradle of Humankind undergoing intensive clean-up and infrastructure upgrades.

These include streetlight rehabilitation, pothole repairs, the clearing of illegal dumps, and the installation of new street furniture. Premier Lesufi stressed that these improvements will deliver lasting benefits to residents and businesses long after the summit concludes.
