Fuji maestro, king Saheed Osupa, has joined well-wishers in celebrating his father, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja (Arùsà 1), following his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a heartfelt tribute, Osupa described the new monarch’s life as a remarkable journey that spans roles as a businessman, senator, governor, and now traditional ruler.
“Baba’s calm, principled, and humble nature has endeared him to many,” Osupa said, recalling how Oba Ladoja’s resilience during his impeachment and subsequent legal battles earned him widespread admiration.
He noted that the monarch’s popularity in Ibadan reflects his long-standing commitment to the city’s progress and development. According to him, Oba Ladoja’s wealth of experience and deep understanding of Ibadan’s history and culture would reposition the ancient city to reclaim its prideful place in Yoruba history.
