The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has delivered another devastating blow to insurgents, eliminating scores of terrorists in a precision airstrike within Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
According to intelligence sources, the operation was triggered by credible reports of insurgent activity around the Parisu axis. At about 9:00 p.m. on March 20, an air asset was deployed for armed reconnaissance over the suspected location.
Upon arrival, the crew made visual contact with Boko Haram fighters moving tactically before converging on a concealed structure hidden under dense foliage. The aircrew tracked them, maintained persistent surveillance, and waited for the optimal moment to strike.
The precision strike was executed with accuracy, destroying the structure and neutralizing multiple terrorists on the spot.
Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the strike’s effectiveness. Survivors were seen fleeing adjoining hideouts in disarray, but the air platform tracked them and conducted a follow-up strike on another identified target further degrading the terrorists’ operational capacity.
This operation underscores the growing dominance of Nigerian airpower in the North-East, denying insurgents freedom of movement and safe haven in their own enclaves.
Coordinated air and ground offensives continue.
