Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo has confirmed that his environment commissioner, Felix Odimegwu, was assaulted by thugs during the Anambra senatorial by-election. The violent act followed escalating tensions as the opposition sought to disrupt the voting process.

Governor Soludo alleges political thugs attacked Commissioner Odimegwu.

The incident occurred in Nnewi South, at polling stations during voting.

Soludo blames desperate actions on electoral defeat fears.He condemned violence, calling for peaceful voting.

Soludo praised INEC for the peaceful election process.Ballots are being counted in some polling units. Soludo’s campaign in Isuofia was marked by calls for a free election.
