Rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Nigeria Police Force of employing what he described as “judicial tricks” in a bid to frustrate his legal battles.
In a post via his verified X handle on Monday, Sowore alleged that the police under the Inspector-General scheduled two cases against him on the same day at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
According to him, while one case was filed to secure the release of his passport, another was simultaneously lodged against him and Sahara Reporters before two separate vacation judges, Justice M.S. Liman and Justice Emeka Nwite.
Sowore claimed the move was designed to deny him reprieve and weaken his team’s preparation ahead of his arraignment on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, over fresh allegations of cybercrime.
