African Action Congress (AAC) 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has stated that he has never met any Nigerian president, including Olusegun Obasanjo.
Naija News reports that Sowore made this known while responding to questions in an interview on an 𝕏 programme, ‘Nix: Outside the Box’.
Sowore said he could not stand Obasanjo because it was during his administration that he went to the university, a period he said marked the beginning of the education system’s decline.
He said, “I have never been to Aso Rock before. I have never met any President in power before, not even Obasanjo.
“Obasanjo is probably one of the people I can’t even stand because of what we knew about him before we went to the university.
“Part of the reasons we were rushing to the university was that Ali must go, and it was Obasanjo period. It was from that period that he started destroying the education system.
“To come back to the nature of power, I don’t even know how his face looks.”
Recall that Obasanjo, a former military Head of State, also served as civilian President from 1999 to 2007.
Meanwhile, Sowore has said that he can never be in an opposition coalition with former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.
Naija News reports that Sowore made this known in an interview on News Central on Friday, while speaking on electoral reforms and transparency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The human rights activist accused El-Rufai, Malami, and Babachir Lawal of destroying the country.
Sowore also questioned the whereabouts of Senators and members of the House of Representatives who used the Labour Party (LP) to secure political offices, stressing that he is aware of their hypocrisy and cannot be with them.
