Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) and Operation Python Eagle (OPEP) on Wednesday conducted a successful raid at Foshoron Village in Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, recovering a cache of weapons, ammunition, and cash.

According to sources, the operation, launched at about 0930 hours, followed credible intelligence reports of criminal hideouts in the area. The suspects fled the location before troops arrived, but the soldiers conducted a thorough search of the hideout.

Recovered items include one AK-47 rifle with magazine, one submachine gun, two locally made firearms, 42 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 84 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 20 cartridges.

In addition, five mobile phones and a total cash sum of Three Hundred and Thirty-Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Sixty Naira (N333,360.00) were seized.
The sources said the weapons and ammunition are currently in custody, while technical and forensic examinations of the mobile phones are ongoing.

The sources said efforts are also underway to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
