Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has taken a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his administration as “worse than Buhari’s” over the planned implementation of income tax beginning early next year.
In a fiery rant shared online, the rapper criticized the president’s economic policies, saying Nigerians are already living under unbearable hardship and that the introduction of income tax will only worsen the situation.
“My Ndigbo people used to say Buhari was the worst president of Nigeria, but I can boldly tell you that Tinubu is worser than Buhari,” Speed Darlington said.
He questioned the whereabouts of the funds generated from the removal of fuel subsidy, alleging that the government has failed to show transparency despite its heavy tax drive.
“How can he implement income tax in a Nigeria that’s already like hell for the people living in it? Where is all the money the Federal Government generated from fuel subsidy?” he queried.
The singer concluded by linking the growing frustration among citizens to the agitation for Biafra, arguing that oppression and economic hardship are fueling the separatist movement.
“This is exactly why people are fighting for Biafra in this country,” he said.
