Stop the Killings or Lose U.S. Aid,” — President of the United States of America Donald Trump Warns Nigeria

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, on Thursday issued a stern warning to the Nigerian government, saying that continued killings of Christians in the country would prompt an immediate halt to U.S. aid and other forms of assistance.

Trump warned: “If the Nigerian government continues to allow the killings of Christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria. We are going to do things to Nigeria that Nigeria is not going to be happy about.”

The threat adds fresh international pressure on Nigerian authorities amid rising concerns over communal and communal-security incidents across parts of the country. Observers say such statements could complicate diplomatic ties and affect foreign assistance programmes if acted upon.
