A lady has expressed frustration online after being stopped by police during a journey, who allegedly demanded a “CMR” document, a requirement she claims she had never encountered before.

According to her, neither on the way to Lagos nor on the return journey was she ever asked to present such a document.

In a social media post, she questioned the sudden emergence of the CMR demand, describing it as a new method being used by some officers to extort money from unsuspecting motorists.

The woman shared her disbelief and concern, emphasising that the situation was unexpected and unnecessary.

“we drove this car to Lagos. Nobody asked for CMR. Going and coming nobody as for CMR. What is CMR? Now, lagos police asking for CMR. What is CMR? CMR? Where did that one come out.”
