Taiwan is planning to forward-deploy U.S.-made M142 HIMARS to outlying islands close to China, including Penghu and Dongyin.

Penghu found in west of Taiwan and Dongyin in northernmost Matsu islands, roughly 19–50 km from the Chinese mainland. These are much closer to China’s coast than Taiwan’s main island.

The goal is to create a “dead zone” by threatening PLA staging areas, ports, airfields, naval facilities, and logistics in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.

This would force Chinese forces to operate farther inland potentially 100+ km from the coast.Get The Full, Details. .
