The operation will run in synchronisation with ground forces to ensure rapid identification and neutralisation of criminal elements.
The President said: “In response to the recent kidnappings and acts of terrorism, I have ordered a full security cordon over the forests in Kwara State.”
“The Air Force is to maintain continuous surveillance over the most remote areas, synchronising operations with ground units to effectively identify, isolate, disrupt, and neutralise all hostile elements.
This directive also extends to the Kebbi and Niger axis.”
He urged residents in affected communities to remain vigilant and support the ongoing operation by reporting suspicious movements or unfamiliar faces.
Security analysts say the directive marks one of the most aggressive federal responses to banditry in recent months, aimed at dismantling terrorist cells operating across the North-Central corridor.
