President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, as he celebrates his 55th birthday on December 31, describing him as a “younger brother and friend in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.”
In a detailed statement released through the Statehouse and shared via official channels, including the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre and Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Governor Sani’s lifelong commitment to justice, freedom, and national unity.
President Tinubu highlighted the governor’s journey from a pro-democracy activist during Nigeria’s military era to a reformist senator and now a compassionate leader in Kaduna State. He commended Sani’s role in the passage of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020, which he said laid a foundation for financial stability, fintech innovation, and expanded credit access.
The President noted significant progress under Governor Sani’s administration since May 2023, including fostering peace and reconciliation in a once tension-prone state.
He specifically pointed to the restoration of calm in areas like Birni Gwari, where farmers have returned to their lands and agricultural activities have rebounded, thanks to inclusive engagement with traditional and religious leaders.
Tinubu also lauded the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, industrialization, agriculture, and equitable development, describing them as reflective of a clear vision for long-term prosperity.
He described Sani as a “trusted and reliable ally” in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The tribute emphasized Sani’s trajectory as an inspiring example for younger generations: from student leader and activist who chose conviction over comfort, to a statesman guided by humility, empathy, and resolve.+See more details
