President Bola Tinubu today reaffirmed his administration’s firm commitment to ending terrorism in Nigeria while strengthening diplomatic ties with global partners.
The President spoke ahead of the Federal Executive Council’s first meeting since July, held behind closed doors at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
The task ahead is to move forward with clarity of purpose guided by the Renewed Hope agenda to build a prosperous Nigeria, Tinubu declared.
His remarks come in the wake of US President Donald Trump’s recent designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern.The Nigerian government has dismissed this label as a misrepresentation of the country’s security situation.
President Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria stands as a democracy respecting constitutional guarantees of religious freedom.
He highlighted ongoing cooperation and dialogue with both Christian and Muslim leaders nationwide.
Addressing concerns of religious intolerance, Tinubu stated that such portrayals do not reflect Nigeria’s reality.
He assured that his administration remains steadfast in protecting the freedom of belief for all Nigerians, consistently and sincerely.
