A massive political event is unfolding in Enugu as top leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) converge on the state to officially receive Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah into the party.
A billboard spotted early this morning at the Enugu State Government House prominently displayed the images of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda — signaling the significance of today’s event.
According to party sources, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, the APC National Chairman Prof. Yilwatda, 23 APC governors, and several high-ranking party chieftains are expected to arrive in Enugu today for the grand ceremony.
Governor Mbah’s defection marks a major political realignment in the South East, positioning the APC for stronger influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, taking place at the Michael Okpara Square in Enugu, is expected to draw thousands of party supporters, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders from across the region.
