Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing the strategic importance of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, describing the project as a major lifeline for the people of Nigeria’s coastal region.

Speaking during live event in Yenagoa, Governor Diri said he was less concerned about the project’s cost but more appreciative of the President’s commitment to its completion, which he noted would greatly benefit the Ijaw communities and other residents along the coastline.

“I don’t care how much the Lagos to Calabar coastal road will cost, but President Tinubu has come to realize it is important to the people of the coastal area, the majority of whom are Ijaw people. Are we going to leave that type of man?” Governor Diri stated.
