President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism, pledging to further strengthen Nigeria’s security forces to end insecurity across the country.
The President made the remarks on Monday while speaking at the opening of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
According to Tinubu, the fight against terrorism remains a top priority for his government and has continued to weigh heavily on national leadership.
“I am living here again to further find means to strengthen our security forces to defeat terrorism. That, I promise you, is what has kept all of us sleepless at night. But I assure you, we will win,” the President said.
During the meeting, President Tinubu commended the governors of Borno, Kaduna, and Katsina States for what he described as notable improvements in security within their respective states.
He urged state governments to continue working closely with federal security agencies, stressing that collaboration and sustained investment in security infrastructure are critical to restoring peace and stability nationwide.
The National Economic Council, which comprises state governors and key federal officials, serves as a strategic platform for coordinating policies on economic management and national development, including security-related challenges.
