In a video shared by AIT, Ulasi stated that two days after unknown gunmen killed about 7 people on Christmas day, he decided to drive alone into an area known for the presence of unknown gunmen. He said while driving slowly through the area, seven young men armed with AK-47 rifles stopped him and they fired warning shots before approaching his car. He said when they ordered him to step out, he calmly complied and they questioned where he was coming from.
Ulasi said one of the young men recognized him as Chief Dan Ulasi, someone they had seen on television speaking in support of Igbo people. He said he told them that he wanted to know why they were causing insecurity and the leader of the group told him that it was because of Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention
In Ulasi’s words: “So about 7 boys came out with Ak-47, fired at me and I stopped and parked my car and they looked at me and asked me to get out of the car. I got out of the car and they asked me “where are you coming from?” I told them I was just taking a drive. After about 2 minutes one young man came out and said ‘Oga you are chief Dan Ulasi, we watch you on television.
You talk about our people a lot, you were an officer of the Biafran army’ and I said yes. I said the war hasn’t finished that is why I am on this road to know why you people are doing what you are doing. And they said for as long as Nnamdi Kanu is being held, the Biafra war has not ended”.Tap Here for the Full Story
