The futures of Ederson and Gianluigi Donnarumma have been a talking point in recent weeks.
Ederson has been a long time servant for Manchester City, arriving from Benfica in June 2017 for a fee of £35 million.
He has gone on to make 372 appearances for the club.
During this seven season spell, the Brazilian has won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and a Champions League.
He was also a part of City’s centurion side in his first season and then the treble winning side in 2022/23.
A departure from City would see the end of one of the most successful periods for any goalkeeper in English football history.
Meanwhile, just as Ederson did, Donnarumma was also part of a side that secured their club’s first Champions League trophy.
The former AC Milan goalkeeper has requested to leave, something that he revealed on social media, after being left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s Super Cup squad this week.
After a 5-0 win in the final against Inter Milan back on May 31st, this secured PSG their first ever Champions League.
Donnarumma was a big reason why the club won the Champions League, with some big saves.
This was most evident in their Round of 16 success against Liverpool, as they went through via a penalty shootout.
He saved penalties from both Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones as they knocked out three English teams on way to their final win against Inter.
Not only has Donnarumma been the penalty shootout hero for PSG, but also for his country.
He was in goal as Italy beat England on penalties in the European Championship final back in 2021, saving efforts from both Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka.
Whilst he is not a stereotypical Pep Guardiola goalkeeper, with his ability to use his feet his biggest weakness.
Despite this, he would be a great player to have in big moments, a setting he appears to thrive in.
