Newcastle United are planning for advanced talks with the player Eddie Howe believes could replace Alexander Isak.
Newcastle are struggling big time in the transfer market this season.
However, Eddie Howe would have expected a different turnaround after winning the Carabao Cup and securing Champions League football.
Also, to make matters worse, their star player, Alexander Isak, is on the verge of leaving the club and joining the current Premier League champions.
If the Swedish international leaves, then it will be a major transfer blow for the Magpies. That is why they are doing everything they can to keep the player at St. James’ Park.
Meanwhile, Isak is adamant about leaving Newcastle and is ready to make outrageous moves to secure the Liverpool transfer.
This had led to a complete breakdown in the relationship between Isak and Newcastle. Now, the Magpies are seriously looking for a replacement because they know the writing’s on the wall.
However, many of the players they targeted as Isak’s replacement have rejected them. From Viktor Gyokeres to Hugo Ekitike to Benjamin Sesko, all these players rejected the Magpies.
Now, Newcastle are desperate as they had to play Anthony Gordon as the striker in their opening Premier League game against Aston Villa.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United are now planning to advance with Yoane Wissa from Brentford as the replacement for Alexander Isak.
The Bees know that Wissa has the desire to leave the club, and that is why they have already signed Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth as his replacement.
Yoane Wissa will not be in the squad for Brentford’s opening Premier League game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Wissa wants to join Newcastle, and it is now up to the Magpies to seal this deal as soon as possible.
