A man should always learn from his mistakes to grow and get better. The same can be said about football clubs.

Repeating the same mistake over and over again will create a situation like Manchester United (pun intended).

However, Tottenham Hotspur have learned from their mistake. Eberechi Eze was theirs to sign. Personal terms agreed and they only needed to agree a fee with Crystal Palace.

But they delayed the negotiations, and Arsenal hijacked the deal. The Spurs not only learned from their mistake but also learned from what Arsenal did: swoop in and hijack the deal.

Thomas Frank and his team did the same thing with another London club. Throughout the summer transfer window, Xavi Simons was Chelsea-bound.

When the Dutch international landed in London last night, his destination was set to be Stamford Bridge; at least that’s what the player thought.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur had other ideas. They swooped in and got the deal one overnight.

Chelsea never set the bid because they were busy sealing the deal for Alejandro Garnacho. Now, it is no secret that Chelsea wanted both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

But what the Spurs did show was ambition. Thomas Frank has made Tottenham flamboyant. They are ready to take risks on and off the pitch.

Now, even Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Xavi Simons has signed his Tottenham contract and has become a Spurs player after completing his medical.

The Dutch international waited for Chelsea. But the bid never came. Now, Simmons is all set to showcase his skill in North London.
